Image licenses

Choose the licence for your use

The shop offers Basic (non-commercial) and Commercial licences. What matters is the purpose of your use, including indirect business benefits.

Basic: non-commercial use

For private, non-commercial uses such as a print in your own home or a personal wallpaper. Non-commercial educational and charitable projects are included where the image does not serve advertising, marketing, fundraising or another business activity.

Commercial use

For business websites, advertising, marketing, brochures, commercial publishers and client projects. A promotional leaflet distributed for free is also commercial. This licence covers the corresponding use in web, print and advertisements.

Included in both licences

• A non-exclusive licence, worldwide, for ten years from purchase.
• Editing such as cropping and colour adjustments is allowed; the motif must not be used in a distorted or degrading manner.
• Attribution is not required.
• Copyright remains with S.E.B. Fotografie.

Image products, sharing and client projects

Posters, postcards, calendars and other image products for resale require a separate agreement and are not included in either standard licence. For an agreed client project, you may pass the file to the client and production providers such as printers or designers. The client may use the project output within the purchased commercial licence; providers may process the file only for that project. Independent sublicensing, reuse in other projects and stock resale are prohibited, as are freely downloadable files and extractable templates.

Buying another licence later

There is no upgrade with credit for the previous purchase. You purchase the required other licence again. Your existing licence is not retrospectively changed.

Questions before buying

Tell me the image, medium and intended use via Contact. The selected licence, product description and shop terms determine the agreed scope. Rights of identifiable people, trademarks or artworks are not automatically cleared.
